JZ038 Updating with the archive Update Directory. (REQUIRED if you are using the previous version of Caseware)
If your firm is using the previous version (or older) of Caseware, do not use the "Download from website to update directory" button in the RC Update Control (JZUPDATE) to obtain your Update Directory. Use the Archive Update Directory.
The previous version of Caseware refers to the version of Caseware that immediately precedes the latest supported version. At the time of writing the latest supported version of Caseware is 2022, therefore the “previous version” is Caseware 2021. This will change as newer versions of Caseware are released. Update Directory packages are not available for versions of Caseware preceding the “previous version” (e.g. 2021 and lower). The Archive Update Directory is compatible with the previous version of Caseware and can be downloaded directly from the Jazzit support website.
The Archive Update Directory is only created when Jazzit transitions to a newer version of Caseware and is not updated regularly. Consequently the Archive Update Directory usually does not contain the latest version of Jazzit. Update Caseware to the latest supported version to access the latest version of Jazzit.
Determine which Resource Centre you updating (KLIB or FRMLIB?). Click on the download link entitled Final Caseware 2021... update for the Resource Centre you are planning to update (KLIB or FRMLIB).
The file downloaded replaces the file that downloads when Download from website to update directory is clicked.
