Recording An Addition to the Cost base
Occasionally you may need to record an addition to the cost base, where there is no change in Cash.

This can be done by using a return of capital line. Right click on a Securities Details line to access the option to insert the line.

In the ROC line enter cost base addition into Purchase cost (Return of cap) and enter an offsetting amount into Income. Both amounts will still show up in the cash summary but they will offset each other. Consider changing the income type for the offsetting amount to a different category to make amounts easier to categorize and reconcile. In this example we have switched the Income type to "Other Payment 4". The Income type can be renamed to something more specific in the Working paper options area.
