The Resource Centre (RC) is a Caseware file called either KLIB (Knowledge library) or FRMLIB (Farm Knowledge library). The Resource Centre contains Jazzit modules in CaseView format such as the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flow, individual notes, individual letters, individual working papers, etc. You may open this file as you would any other Caseware file. The Resource Centre Document Manager lists all the modules.

 

The modules in the Resource Centre may be edited by your Jazzit Administrator to reflect your firm’s preferences. These revisions are then available on a firm wide basis through the Jazzit update process.

 

The Resource Centre is typically located on your file server. Updates and modifications to Jazzit modules are made in the Resource Centre and then easily incorporated into the Jazzit documents within your client files.

 

Client files are usually saved on the file server. You may wish to transfer a client file to a workstation or laptop if you are going out of the office or if network speed is slow using Sign In/Out and/or Check In/Out in Caseware.

 

 

Your firm may also wish to create a Caseware master file for each type of engagement you complete in your firm (e.g. Compilation, Review, and Audit). You can do this quickly by using Caseware’s Copy Components function to bring the Jazzit templates and mapping structure into a new file along with your leadsheets and the programs and checklists you require for each type of engagement. The CPA programs and checklists are available from Jazzit if you do not wish to create your own.
