PACT Document control
The document control is used to:
 
Ensure that the PACT Document control is always present in a Caseware file with a PACT document. It is required for the PACT document to connect to the Resource Centre (PACT Compilation Master)

Clearing Options

Allows the preparer to decide which data will retain during a Caseware rollforward.
 
Clearing options apply to all PACT documents in the Caseware file. Click on Set to default to default the Document control to the settings in the Resource Centre Document control.

Hide details if procedures set to NA

In certain documents setting certain procedures to NA will hide details since subsequent procedures may be deemed unnecessary.

Structure

Use the Structure popup menu to select Limited Company, Partnership, Proprietorship, Not for Profit, Public sector (9 column statement format). Depending on which option is selected, there may be changes to the default title of owner(s) description and statement names.

Choose which framework to use. This is dependent on the type of engagement and structure selected.

Number of Owner(s)
5. Number of Owner(s)
The number of owner(s) option sets any reference to owner(s) as either single or plural (for example Due to shareholder or Due to shareholders).

The title of owner(s) can be used to change the words used to refer to the owners. You can type any description in the blue cell if you need something other than the options in the menu.

Choose the option or type in the entity description as required. The default option is the first bold option in the popup menu and is based on the type of structure chosen.

Choose between singular or plural options. The wording within the report (i.e. we have reviewed or I have reviewed) is controlled by the Wording option. This will also set the default wording within all Jazzit letters for that client file.
 
 Your selection will be overridden if this is changed in the RD – Firm Profile in the Resource Centre.

Optional alternate name

Use the Optional alternate name to add a second line below the company name at the top of each statement and on the engagement report. This is used if the trade name differs from the legal name (Operating as menu item), or if the company's name has changed since the last financial statement (Formerly menu item). Enter the other company name in Optional alternate name field.

Set draft stamp
10. Set draft stamp
Set the default behavior for the draft stamp for the letters and working papers. You can either set it to default to the Jazzit financial statement draft stamp behavior or set it to default On or Off independently from the Jazzit financial statements.
 
Check the checkbox next to the description to set the default globally for all the Jazzit letter and Jazzit Working Papers or leave the checkbox unchecked to allow preparers to set the draft stamp behavior on each individual letter and Working Paper.

Confidentiality notice

The confidentiality notice options can be globally set as default in the Diagnostics Report by checking off the check box next to the description. Preparers won't be able to change the settings on the individual Jazzit Letters. Select to turn the confidentiality notice on or off, set the alignment preference and use the popup menu to choose the preferred text. You can also enter your own text into the blue input cell. To allow preparers to change the options on the individual letters uncheck the checkbox next to the description.

The country of the engagement file can be set to appear in the address block of each letter throughout the client file.
 
Selecting on will set it globally display the country in the address box of each letter as is set in the engagement properties for the specific file.

These are set in the Document control residing in the Resource centre. Click on Set to default to default the Document control to the settings in the Resource Centre Document control. Procedure text can be locked or made editable by preparers. Balance summaries can be made visible at the top of checklists.

Resource centre (RC) information

Set the Resource location by double-clicking on the file path. PACT Compilation KLIB should be selected.
 
RC for letterhead & signatures: This is automatically set. Double-click on the file path for more information.

Staff Names

Enter staff names and initials. Click on Set to default to default the Document control to the settings in the Resource Centre Document control. This can be edited in both the Jazzit master version and the Resource centre version.

Document filter

Filter the document list below to show all documents, documents found in the Caseware file, documents with updates available, or documents not found in the Caseware file.

A summary listing of all package documents in the Caseware. Click on the status to open the corresponding document. The indicates and update is available.
