This option will launch a new instance of CaseView for each CaseView document that is opened.

When the option to use Multiple Document Windows is selected under Tools > Options > Interface, you are unable to customize the command toolbar in CaseView.  Switch the option off, customize the ribbon, and then turn the feature back on.
