JZ106 Using Group numbers to combine account amounts
You may have noticed throughout the Jazzit templates the ability to use a variety of link types. The most commonly used link types are Map Number and Account number. However Group numbers can also be used to create customized groupings of accounts.

Combining accounts using group numbers
In this example we will use group 2. By default group 2 contains no group numbers so one will need to be created. Go to the Working Trial Balance and click on the Groupings tab. Click on the dropdown arrow under the Group 2 column to access Group 2 numbers.

Click on New to create a new Group 2 number. Specify a name and Group No. In this case we will specify the number as 100 and name as 'Combine Example'. Click OK and close the Group 2 number listing.

Click on the Account tab to return to the normal trial balance view. Right-click on the column headings and select "Reorder Columns...". Make the Group 2 column visible. Assign Group 2 number 100 to any accounts you want to combine.

In the Jazzit template set the Link type as 'Group 2' and select '100' as the Link No. Notice the 200k amount from combining the 50k and 150k amounts from accounts 2650 and 2660.
