JZ069 I have updated my Engagement Report to include the new Engagement Report, but "Unaudited" still appears on the Notes and does not appear on other pages.
For the newest Review standards (CSRE 2400) and Compilation standards (CSRS 4200) "(Unaudited)" is no longer required on statement headings. Older templates may still display "(Unaudited)" even when Engagement report is up to date.
Jazzit added a Report alert field to the Engagement Report options so alert can be modified. By default, this will be blank for engagements under the newest standards. This disclosure can also be customized on the statements by entering text into the Report alert field.
For some users, the "(Unaudited)" may still appear at the top of the Notes to the Financial Statements even if the Report alert field is blank. This is typically because the Header and Footer module they are using is older and the formula in KLIB needs to be updated.
Solution
Ensure your Engagement Report is up to date
Open your Jazzit financial statements in the client file and click on the
Admin tab. Ensure that the date of the Engagement Report
In Current File is at least January 25, 2019 or newer. Click
Reload from Resource Centre if the
RC revised is at least January 25, 2019 or newer. If both the
In Current File and
RC revised dates are older than January 25, 2019,
update your Jazzit KLIB:
\
Use the "Statement headings" field
For Engagement Reports January 25, 2019 or newer, in the Jazzit financial statements, navigate to the Engagement Report. Click the Report folder to show the options:
You may change whether the "(Unaudited)" displays using the Report alert field in this menu. This field will automatically calculate the appropriate text for the "Unaudited" field. A blank field will remove the "(Unaudited)" from the statement headings. If this field is blank and the "(Unaudited)" still displays on the Notes to the Financial Statements, you will need to update the Notes Header in KLIB.
Updating the Notes Header in KLIB
We suggest submitting to Jazzit via email (support@jazzit.com). The file can be found in your klib folder/directory.
Alternate - Manually updating the Notes Header in KLIB
If necessary, the klibHF note header can be updated manually. Please back up the HF module first.
Backing up your HF module
Header and footer modules are unique to your firm. Jazzit builds each one individually for every client, and they do not get replaced or updated when a regular update is run. For this reason, it is a good idea to back up your HF module so that it can be replaced if it is lost or damaged.
Before modifying the HF module it is recommended that you make a backup.
-
To back up your HF module, navigate to another folder on your computer that is easy for you to locate and remember. Often this may be the same folder where your Jazzit templates are kept. Create a new folder called
HF backup:
-
Navigate to your KLIB folder and locate the file
klibHF.cvw.
-
Right-click on this file and select
Copy. Now, return to your
HF backup folder and right-click, and select
Paste.
If you encounter any problems with your HF in the future, you can recover your old HF from here and use Copy and Paste to return it to the KLIB folder. This will restore your old settings and function.
Updating the Notes Header
-
Navigate to your KLIB and open the document
HF – Statement headers and footers:
-
Unlock the document by clicking the
Lock/Unlock button and entering the administrator password.
-
Then, click on the
View tab and click on
Design Mode and unlock design mode by entering the administrator password:
-
Navigate to
Header 2 and click on the cell that says
"(Unaudited – See Notice To Reader)" (The cell labeled UNAUDIT1). You can see this cell name in red, just above and to the right of the cell. Its name is
"UNAUDIT1":
-
Open the
Balance Sheet in KLIB and unlock the document and go into
Design mode. This process is the same as for the Header and Footer document.
-
Locate the cells "UNAUDIT1A" and "UNAUDIT1B" below the Balance Sheet title:
-
We are going to Copy and Paste these two cells from the Balance Sheet into Header 2 of the Header and Footer document.
-
First, delete the cell "UNAUDIT1" from the HF - Header and Footer document:
-
Now, go back to the
Balance Sheet and highlight both cells, "UNAUDIT1A" and "UNAUDIT1B" and copy the cells (CTRL + A).
-
Go back to the
HF - Header and Footer and place your cursor on the same line as the deleted cell “UNAUDIT1” and paste (CTRL + V).
-
Save and close your HF - Statement headers and footers document. You can close your
Balance Sheet without saving.
-
In your client files, open your Jazzit financial statements:
-
Open the
Admin tab in the Home Menu and click the
Reload from Resource Centre button next to
Headers and footers.
The notes to the financial statements will now properly display the "(Unaudited)" title if the toggle is set in the Engagement Report, and will be blank if the toggle is set to Blank.
Updating the FRMLIB headers and footers
If your firm also has Farm clients, you will also need to update your FRMLIB for the new settings. The process for updating the FRMLIB is exactly the same as updating the KLIB, except in the FRMLIB file instead of the KLIB file.
Alternately, the HF file from KLIB can be copied into FRMLIB by performing the following steps:
-
Open FRMLIB with Caseware. Click on
File > Copy Components.
-
Select
Copy into this File, then click on the
File tab and click
Browse to select the path to your KLIB. Click
Next.
-
In the next window, select
The following components:
-
Check off the
Documents component and make sure to
Deselect All.
-
Scroll down to the
HF document and select it.
-
Ensure
Copy Documents only (no folders) option is checked.
-
Click
Next. In the next window, ensure all the boxes are not checked then click
Next. On the next window, click
Finish.
The FRMLIB will now have the same header and footer as the KLIB.
