Recalculation Error
Occasionally, you may be prompted by the rounding function to recalculate. Normally turning the rounding off and on will clear this prompt.

Troubleshooting: Change the rounding account
Usually changing a problem rounding account in any of the 3 statements (Balance sheet, Income Statement, Cash flow) will fix the recalculation. Changing rounding accounts individually and toggling the rounding will allow you to isolate which rounding account is the issue. At that point you can opt to use a different rounding account or attempt to fix the problematic rounding account. The problem rounding account is often: overridden, formula edited, or the description is repeating (see below for more details).

Zero balance rounding account filter
When changing rounding accounts it is preferable to test zero balance balance rounding accounts, they are less likely to have the issues mentioned above. Jazzit automatically hides zero balance rounding accounts. You can temporarily disable this feature by clicking on Filter zero balances enabled.

Check the Cash Flow as well
The Statement of Cash flow is commonly turned off for many engagements. However the rounding settings in the Cash Flow can trigger a recalculation error even if the Cash flow is deactivated. Reactivate the Cash flow via the Statement menu and change the rounding account there as well. The Cash flow can be deactivated again when the recalculation error has been resolved.

Difference between rounding account description and actual account description in the Balance sheet
For certain versions of the Jazzit balance a difference between the rounding account description and the actual description in the Balance sheet will cause recalc errors.

The descriptions can be synced by clicking on 'Load rounding defaults'.

Overridden rounding account
Sometimes the error message will persist despite toggling the rounding off and on. This is usually caused by a rounding account being overridden. To identify the overridden account, change rounding accounts for one statement (ex: income statement) then re-enable the rounding. If the recalculation error persists, change the rounding accounts on another statement until the recalculation error is gone. Once you have identified the overridden rounding account, remove the override. Alternatively you can use a non-overridden rounding account to resolve the error.

Formula removed from rounding account
In other cases the rounding account may have had its formula removed or altered. Identifying the problem account can be done in the same manner as identifying a overridden account as outlined above. Restoring the formula will require reloading the affected statement.

Rounding account name appears more than once in a statement
Jazzit's rounding function relies on the account description to determine where to apply the rounding difference. Having two or more lines with the same description will confuse the rounding function.

Beginning Retained Earnings (RE) in Current Year does not match with Ending Retained Earnings from Prior Year
Use the Balance Sheet by Map Draft to ensure that your beginning RE in Prior Year matches ending RE in Current Year.

Ensure that '-' is used for negative numbers in Windows regional settings
Check your Windows regional settings. Ensure that the negative number sign symbol is '-'. See this page for more information on changing regional settings.

Other Causes
Other causes of a persistent recalculation error also exist. In those cases you may need to reload the statement (Balance sheet, Income Statement, and Cash flow) one by one to eliminate the error. If you have determined which statement has an issue you can close the financial statements without saving and reopen the Financial Statements. Then reload only the statement that has issue. This way you will only have to redo only the statement that has been reloaded. If that does not work, please Contact Jazzit Support.
