Common Letter Features
To provide consistency throughout Jazzit, most of the letters share common functionality.

Open document
1. Open document
Popup menu allows you to open any document from the CaseWare Document Manager.

Document settings
3. Document settings
Opens the document settings section. Document settings allow the preparer or Administrator to change certain default options.
4. Status
Shows the update status of the document. A yellow status indicator () indicates that the document needs to be updated.
Document version

Indicates the version date of the document in the current file. The Document and Resource Centre dates will be the same when the document is updated.
Sign off
6. Sign off
Click on the button to access the Roles dialog to sign off the document.
Adjusting entries

View, edit, or create adjusting entries without having to jump to CaseWare.
Trial Balance
8. Trial Balance
Opens the CaseWare Working Trial Balance within CaseView.
Save & Exit
9. Save & Exit
Saves and closes the document without closing CaseView completely.
Reload (Update) from Resource Centre

Click on this button to update or reload the letter from the Resource Centre.
Resource Centre version
11. Resource Centre version
Indicates the version date of the Resource Centre module. The Document and Resource Centre dates will be the same when the document is updated.
Document settings

Document properties for the letters and working papers present information about the Resource Centre path, type and document filename.
Resource Centre information: Indicates which Resource Centre the document is connected to, e.g. KLIB or FRMLIB, the Resource Centre file name and which Header/footer module it is connected to.
Change Resource Centre path: Indicates the Resource Centre path. This is defaulted from the Jazzit financial statement. If the file path is incorrect check the Jazzit financial statement file path in the Admin section of the Home Menu.

Update changes made to headers and footers in the Resource Centre without having to update the document.

Change header and footer settings specific to the document.
Letter options

Each letter will have its own letter options. Click on the folder icon to show or hide the available options.
Draft stamp

The draft stamp behavior can be set to use the default behavior of the draft stamp in the Jazzit financial statements or can be set to a default on or off position. Use the Diagnostics Report to set the draft stamp behavior.
Confidentiality notice

The confidentiality notice can be set to on or off in the letter. Use the Diagnostics Report to setup the confidentiality notice settings.

The country address can be set to on or off in the letter.
Financial statement defaults

Defaults set in the Jazzit financial statements will get transferred to the letters depending on the letter type. Some letter defaults can also be set independently from the Jazzit financial statements using the Diagnostics Report template.

Each letter also has unique options related to the individual template.
Resource Centre diagnostic

You can see when KLIB was last updated by looking at the information provided below the Letter Options section.
This area will also inform you if you are connected to the Resource Centre. Green means you are connected and red means you are not connected. If the diagnostic is red, open the Jazzit financial statements and ensure that you are connected to the Resource Centre under Admin or make sure the Resource Centre is not compressed.
Letter date

The letter date is linked to sign-off from the CaseWare Document Manager. You can choose from today’s date, Preparer date, and Reviewer date.
Client address block

This is populated from the Engagement Properties dialog in CaseWare. Double-click on any of the fields to review the Engagement properties.
24. Salutations
The salutations are populated from the Contact 1 and Contact 2 tabs in the Engagement Properties dialog. A list of different formats are available from the popup menu. Use the input cells to type in your own description if required.
Subject of letter
25. Subject of letter
Click the checkbox to print the subject description of the letter. Use the popup menus to choose alternative references or type in your own text into the input cell.
